By Mommy Mentor On July 20, 2011 No Comments

One of the biggest fears of those who want to try working online is if there is a guarantee that they won’t be scammed, that they will be paid for all the work done. This understandable since there indeed are lots of employers out there who are do nothing but scam the people they hired. Odesk.com understands this and has place within it’s system a way to guarantee payment.

Now how does the oDesk system work? When you create an account,  you’ll be asked to download an application that will be like your virtual office. Why I Like Onlinejobs.ph Part 2

By Mommy Mentor On July 16, 2011 2 Comments

I’ve enumerated in a previous post 4 reasons why I like onlinejobs.ph. There is another thing that I like in this site that I have not seen in the other job boards – a video message from the site owner.

In this video message, John Jonas mentioned 5 things that are expected from applicants of onlinejobs.ph. The message though should be a universal dos and don’ts for all homebased Filipino workers. I’m tweaking it a bit though to make the message applicable to all.

Even if you are oceans apart from your

I’ve been working online since 2006 and one of those sites that I highly recommend for Pinoys to get a job is onlinejobs.ph.

There are 4 things I actually like about this site that is beneficial for work at home moms like me.

First is that the site owner, John Jonas, is a respected figure in the Internet Marketing scene.  His blog, jonasblog.com is OnlineJobs.ph Banner 180x150filled with case studies of numerous successful working relationships between his Western clients and home based Filipino workers.  He is a staunch advocate of outsourcing and highly recommends Filipinos for the job. He has a staff of Filipinos manning the site.

Second, they are not a big fan of resumes. The site has a Jobseeker Skills Page where you need to honestly rate your skills. So it doesn’t really matter if you have the right educational background for

Work From Home Jobs

By Mommy Mentor On July 3, 2011 1 Comment

There are a lot of people looking for work from home jobs but do not have a single idea what particular job to apply for. What they do know is that they want to create a happy balance between taking care of their families and earning some money.

My advice is for you to first assess what skills you have and start from there.

Do you have  a good command of the English language? Then you can apply as a writer. Web Content Writer, blogger, article writer, forum poster, etc., the job title varies but they basically mean one thing – a writing job.

Are you the type of person who knows that there is another meaning to PHP other than Philippine Peso? A techie who can figure out what Joomla,  XHTML, CSS, WordPress or CMS means? You may be in luck
